Bartholomew joins Kristian Bezuidenhout, Jonian Ilias Kadesha, Lilli Maijala, Richard Lester, Anthony Marwood, Vashti Hunter, Derek Gripper and Gilles Vonsattel in the opening concert of 2019’s Peasmarsh Festival.
- Schubert Adagio and Rondo Concertante in F major, D.487
- Cherubini String Quintet in E minor
- Fauré Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor
Cherubini’s rarely performed Classical masterpiece contrasts beautifully with Fauré’s unerringly elegant Romantic piano quartet. The concert opens with Schubert’s Adagio and Rondo Concertante of 1816, a pianistic tour de force and his first composition for piano and string ensemble.
